• Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, the Bridges of Faith Association, based in Romania, has taken an active role in addressing the humanitarian crisis. What began as an exploratory visit to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense in November 2022 evolved into a collaborative partnership with both government and faith leaders. Recognizing the dire needs of Ukrainian soldiers on the frontlines, we identified a unique opportunity: the production of Ukraine’s first military edition waterproof Bibles in partnership with Biblica.
• Our mission is to deliver these Bibles directly to soldiers serving on the battlefield. This project isn't just about providing spiritual sustenance, but about supporting the emotional well-being of those who face the daily horrors of war. Given the challenging conditions, this waterproof Bible will stand as a symbol of resilience and hope for soldiers who desperately need it.

The Ukrainian military lacks a long-standing Christian chaplaincy tradition due to the Soviet Union’s atheistic past.

Soldiers have limited access to Christian literature, particularly in the Ukrainian language.

Paper Bibles deteriorate rapidly in wet and muddy trenches, making them unusable. Once damaged, they are often discarded or even used for personal hygiene due to a lack of resources.

Beyond spiritual support, there is a pressing need for more collaboration between chaplaincy services and military associations to provide counseling, logistical aid, and assistance to the families of fallen soldiers.
Our Response
To address these needs, Bridges of Faith and our partners have been working to provide direct support for soldiers on the front lines. In the past few years, we’ve delivered the following:
• Generators for military hospitals.
• Medical aid and life-saving equipment for hospitals.
• Ambulances and pickup trucks for transporting wounded soldiers.
• Solar panels and EcoFlow Batteries for chaplaincy institutions.
• Kelly Kettles for soldiers and affected families.
• Trauma healing programs for Ukrainian women serving as volunteers and in intelligence services.
• Financial support for both official and volunteer chaplains.
• Establishing a volunteer chaplaincy service with STEIGER Ukraine.
